Caroline is honoured to be the CEO of Womankind Worldwide having worked for nearly 25 years in over 20 countries to support women to know, claim and realise their rights.
Early in her career, Caroline gained rich experience living and working in a small rural village on the banks of the Nile in Sudan where she learnt about issues such as female genital mutilation and violence against women and girls first hand. Since then she has provided leadership in the non-profit and private consulting sectors; most recently, as leader of a large UK financed initiative in Odisha, a poor state in rural India, where she lead a large team of consultants over three years to strengthen the health system and improve maternal health, social care and women’s empowerment.
Caroline has worked on sexual, reproductive and maternal health rights in settings as diverse as Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. She has worked with many key actors in the activist, academic, governmental, civil society and private sector communities, as well as global development partners including the UK Government, European Union and Member States, United Nations, Global Fund and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Caroline has presented at numerous international conferences and meetings and holds a BA (Hons.), MA and MBA.
