
Maggie Baxter
Trustee - Chair – TrusteesMaggie was our Executive Director over a decade ago and has remained a committed supporter of Womankind.
Maggie has a long and impressive track record in women's rights and international development and has worked in the voluntary sector for 40 years. Maggie’s achievements were recognised in 2010 when she was awarded an OBE for her services to the voluntary sector and women’s philanthropy.
Maggie was the founding Chair of Rosa, the first UK fund for women and girls, and now serves as an Ambassador. She is also a former Chair of Women for Refugee Women and Green Belt Movement International - Europe and an Advisory Committee member of Oxfam.
Maggie has also worked with several grant makers, serving as an advisor, Trustee or on grant-making committees. These include the Baring Foundation, the True Colours Trust, Trust for London and Hilden Charitable Fund. At Comic Relief, Maggie served as Deputy Chief Executive and Grants Director and was responsible for the allocation of all Red Nose Day income in both the UK and Africa. She was seconded from Comic Relief to set up the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
